Hotel base and bed-height options for hospitality projects

The base is replaced far less often than the mattress, yet it shapes room comfort directly. Here are the two main approaches and their practical differences.

Bed base options

Panel base

A panel base places timber slats on a steel sheet and gives a fixed bed height. It installs quickly and shortens room-turnover time. It provides no storage.

Lift-up storage base

A lift-up base solves in-room storage for budget-room concepts. The lid is hydraulically assisted, which keeps both installation and daily use easy.

Standardising bed height

Standardising a single bed height across a property is a strong practice for both procurement and operations: spare-part planning, housekeeping equipment and maintenance all work to one dimension.

Decide early on new-build projects

The base type has to be planned together with services and furniture. On new-build projects the base decision is made in the design phase. Waiting until after installation is too late.
