Roll-packed or flat-packed mattresses for hotels?

Packaging directly affects freight cost and warehouse efficiency. Here is where each approach wins, by project type.

Roll-packed and flat-packed mattresses

The case for roll-packing

Roll-packed mattresses fit more units per vehicle. On shipments to remote regions and export destinations this lowers both freight and customs cost, and they take less warehouse space.

Roll packaging also protects the mattress in transit: the risk of tearing during handling is lower.

The case for flat-packing

Some constructions, particularly tall hybrid cores, may not fully regain their shape after being rolled. In that case flat-packing means the mattress is room-ready on arrival.

On short-haul projects where a vehicle is filled room by room, flat-packing can increase the number of rooms per vehicle.

How to decide

Distance is the single criterion: roll-packing usually wins on long-haul and export projects, flat-packing on local ones. Stating your delivery country and distance in the request lets us recommend correctly.
